MY STORY

Tonya BaltimoreWith a name many assume is a stage name (and yes, Tonya Baltimore is my real name), I’m a storyteller, voice artist, and performer whose work spans voiceover, music, stage, and film.

For years, I worked behind the scenes as a narrative strategist, helping organizations shape stories that informed, inspired, and connected people. Today, I bring that same understanding of story to my work as a voice artist, performer, and creator.

My voice has been featured in projects for television, radio, live events, museums, government agencies, nonprofits, and global brands. Clients and collaborations have included Marriott International, The Rockefeller Foundation, Waymo, AARP, the NAACP, the U.S. Census Bureau, and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). I also narrated literary works for the Library of Congress for two years, bringing stories ranging from children’s literature to historical fiction to life through audio performance.

In addition to voiceover, I’ve appeared on stage and screen with the Washington Revels performing arts organization and in the short film Basement People, which screened at the American Black Film Festival and the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival. My creative background also includes work as a recording artist with Alpha International/PolyGram Records in Philadelphia.

Alongside my creative work, I built a career shaping narrative and communications for national and global organizations that continues to influence my approach to storytelling across mediums.

I’m a Washington, D.C. native and currently reside in the Washington metropolitan area.
